LIReC Crashing
(Message 163)
Posted 11 Sep 2024 by mikey Post: Had one today on ver 1.32, lasted about 2.41 seconds before crashing. Same results with everyone else who tried. And today Wednesday the 11th there is work but it's not being sent out, the same thing with the blind delta algorithm tasks LIReC using BOINC instead of AWS 14 ready to send 0 in progress blind delta algorithm 704 ready to send 0 in progress |

No Work Available
(Message 160)
Posted 5 Sep 2024 by mikey Post: That would be a waste of time and electricity - my hosts have been running smoothly for years. Each time you run new tasks from a Project you need to rerun the benchmarks, also if you've been away from a project for awhile, I don't know the actual time frame, you need to rerun the benchmarks. |

LIReC Crashing
(Message 147)
Posted 30 Aug 2024 by mikey Post: It's no wonder the LIReC tasks are failing, look at the time between when they sent me the task and the deadline...only ONE hour!! 51915199 8535 30 Aug 2024, 1:20:39 UTC 30 Aug 2024, 2:20:39 UTC Timed out - no response 0.00 0.00 --- LIReC using BOINC instead of AWS v1.27 windows_x86_64 That's a problem for most crunchers, I don't care how long the task actually is. |

GPU application?
(Message 64)
Posted 9 Dec 2023 by mikey Post: The source code of the app, if i'm not wrong, is open. I too beleive the source code is open but the actual data needed to create a set of tasks is not at most Projects to keep people from creating their own and cheating. A gpu task is similar at each project but the way the task works is not because of the input data in and the result they are trying to get back. The user Petri of the GPU Users Group can tweak a gpu task, for Linux only, and make it faster while still giving the same results because he has acces to the latest software to do it but he STILL needs to be approved by the Project to do it. I don't know if he is interested in actually writing a gpu task from scratch though, he's done more tweaking at several Projects instead. On the other hand there is a Project Admin message sytem where they can ask for help about anything, sadly though most don't use it when they need help instead preferrring to 'figure it out' by themselves. |
